I have been a Production Sound Mixer based in Pittsburgh, PA for 12 years, but also work often  in surrounding areas like Cleveland, OH and  Morgantown, WV.  Specializing in recording Sound for picture. (commercials, film, TV, documentary, social, corporate, digital  and more.)

Why do you need a Production Sound Mixer?

My main rig consists of the Sound Devices 833, and Lectrosonics DSR, and SR dual channel slot receivers. Lectrosonics DBSM, and SM transmitters. Sanken, DPA, and Countryman lapel mics, and for the boom, I use Schoeps, Sanken and Sennheiser overhead mics, as well as Denecke and Ambient timecode systems .

The entire system has been maticulously setup, and expertly maintained to not only be powerful, but mobile and reliable in the most harsh of conditions. All equipment will show up on set with all the necessary batteries, cables and peripherals to ensure uninterrupted operation.  A second smaller rig is also available as a drop bag for car setups, and run and gun work.

The need for a Production Sound Mixer to be mobile and move quickly on set is critical. My low profile sound and utility carts are both smaller than the width of a standard doorway. These not only hold the all the essential equipment needed on set, but fit through narrow hallways, and take up very little real estate on set.
